Propellant Development

Wendernes maintains in-house capabilities for propellant synthesis, formulation, and characterization. This approach allows us to develop proprietary formulations, conduct rapid iteration and testing, and maintain strict quality control.

Hydrogen Peroxide (HTP)

High-test peroxide is produced through careful purification and concentration of commercial hydrogen peroxide solutions.

Process: Vacuum distillation to remove water and volatile impurities
Target Purity: >95% H₂O₂
Quality Assurance: Iodometric titration, density measurement, decomposition testing, contaminant analysis

White Fuming Nitric Acid (WFNA)

WFNA is produced through distillation and purification of concentrated nitric acid.

Process: Distillation under controlled conditions with nitrogen dioxide addition
Water Content Control: Carefully monitored to achieve white fuming characteristic
Quality Assurance: Karl Fischer titration, density measurement, vapor pressure assessment, corrosion testing

Inhibited WFNA (IWFNA)

Our proprietary IWFNA formulation incorporates iodine pentoxide (I₂O₅) as a corrosion inhibitor.

Inhibitor Chemistry: I₂O₅ hydrolyzes in trace water to form iodic acid (HIO₃), which passivates metal surfaces
Concentration: 0.5-2.0% by weight
Benefits: Enables use of standard materials, reduces corrosion rates, improves engine reliability

Fuel Formulations

We work with standard hypergolic fuels and develop custom fuel blends for specific applications.

Monomethylhydrazine (MMH): Standard hypergolic fuel for WFNA systems with high energy density
Hydrazine Derivatives: Altern alternatives for specific mission requirements
Quality Control: Batch testing for contaminants, water content, and purity certification
